In early 2024 I got interested in Godot, an open-source game engine, which looked like a very simple way to start making my games. To explain how on Earth I started making my own game (there is only one at the moment) I have to make you familiar with my programming background. No, of course, I am not a professional programmer! I just experience with many programming languages in the past and created simple software like Chrome extension and so on. Mainly, I tried web programming using JavaScript. Also, I tried to make backend and desktop applications using Python. Those are fabulous technologies with versatile frameworks, however, I always looked at this as a hobby. However, when I came across Godot, I understood that programming might become something serious in my life in case I use it combined with game development. So, I started studying GDScript and Godot game engine and found it fascinating and easy to use. I have to admit though it was easy only at the beginning, the more I used it the more advanced it started to become, but it never stopped being fun and entertaining. In my opinion, a game developer should enjoy making a game just like a player playing it.
